Climate Change

How does your job influence the climate change that affects the planet? And how does your private life do it? Do your activities contribute to mitigate climate change, or to deepen it? And the company you work with? The products or services it provides, how do they impact the planet’s climate? These are questions posed more and more by consumers, companies, NGOs and governments around the world. On the other hand, how will we all be affected by climate change? What will be the price for taking for a long time a huge and growing volume of carbon out from the earth and send it into the atmosphere? What to do in order to make our future less traumatic?

Nations are mobilized in search of tools that could fight this global threat. The Kyoto Protocol is the better known of them. There are others, like the system currently coming into place in the USA, or the European one, besides the Carbon Voluntary Market and different governmental initiatives in Brazil. Carbon inventories are being made by companies in order to define their carbon balances, their footprints in this matter. New technologies emerge and receive new investments. Biofuels and other ways of “cleaning” human activities gain strength.

Climate change is affecting economic and social activities of humanity. Some people are aware, other not so far, but the fact is that production chains and personal lifestyle itself begin to deviate from the previous paradigms. Gradually changes spread over the power sector, agribusiness, industries, transportation, architecture and urbanism, and the whole way of life humanity adopted from the industrial revolution on, that now reached or even went beyond the bearable limits of our planet.

ATA is proud of its activity: to support companies to find their position, to decide and to act in this global environment, and to integrate these concerns into their business equations. See how we do it in the other sections of this site.
